Privacy Policy

Summary
Panic Button is a Chrome extension that closes all your open tabs with one click or one keyboard shortcut and lets you reopen them later. We do not collect, sell, share or transmit your personal data. Everything the extension saves stays in your browser.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email address or any account information. There are no accounts.
- We do not collect or send your browsing history, tab URLs or page contents to any server.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, trackers or third-party scripts.
Information stored on your device
To work, the extension stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage:

This data never leaves your device through the extension. If you use Chrome's browser sync and extension settings are included, Chrome itself may sync your settings between your own devices; that is handled by Google under its own privacy policy, not by us.
You can delete the saved tabs at any time by using the extension, by removing the extension, or by clearing the extension's data in Chrome.
Permissions and how they are used
- tabs – to read the URLs of your open tabs so they can be saved, to close them, to open your chosen page, and to reopen saved tabs.
- storage – to save your settings and your last saved tabs on your device.
- history – used only if you turn on "Clear today's history", to remove browsing history from the start of the current day when you press Panic Button. It is off by default. Cleared history cannot be recovered by Chrome.
Use of data
The data described above is used only to provide the extension's single purpose: closing your tabs quickly and letting you restore them. We do not use or transfer it for advertising, credit or lending decisions, or any purpose unrelated to that function, and we do not allow humans to read it.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell, trade, rent or share your data with anyone.
Children's privacy
The extension does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. If we ever add features that handle data differently, we will describe the change here before it takes effect.
